All three. Alright. Let's talk about personal preference.
If you like a deep storyline and very inclusive quests, go Nightfall. You also gain access to the Dervish and the Paragon professions. This campaign is African inspired, lots of desert and rocky terrain in this one. You also have access to Heroes, a special class of characters that can be customised to fight how you want them to fight alongside you, moreso than henchmen, (Henchmen, you'll find in all 3 campaigns.) If you like to fight other people, and want to get there quickly, buy Factions. You also gain access to two special professions, the assassin and the ritualist. This campaign is Asian inspired, lots of asian style housing, ghettos and other fairly unique instances such as a Jade sea and a Petrified forest. Levelling is quick and easy in this campaign, keeping in mind that the game starts once you hit level 20 (max level of any character, don't worry, the focus of GW isn't level grind, it's about playing through the game). If you want a real down-to-earth game, with an almost-seamless and easy-to-cope grasp of the game, then buy prophecies. Unfortunately there are no special professions associated with this campaign. This campaign has all types of region-inspired terrain, majority of it is inspired through Europe. But to be clear, you'll find a bit of scorched earth, a bit of jungle, a bit of desert and a bit of icy mountains. It also has the biggest map compared to the other three. Ah! an old UO player! I remember when Lord British was assassinated by a lone fireball man. Anyway, Prophecies would be a good option for a new comer, it has the best learning curve of them all. A bit slow but you'll learn the game better that way.
Nightfall is the second best to start off, Factions can be a bit in your face for someone new. Get all 3 would be a good idea as well. And please do visit wiki: http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Main_Page A lot of info about the game there. |
